My neighbors are away for the weekend. I'm watching their chickens and ducks while they're gone. Also doing some watering.

                Here's the rewards from yesterday.
                          2 chicken and 1 duck

              Today there were 2 more chicken eggs,
                   maybe egg salad is in order?

Another Month Goes By : Life at my home

I'm loving my new place. I planted flowers, bought a beautiful basil plant at Trader Joe's, hung hummingbird feeders where a couple of hummingbirds are regular feeders. I love the sounds they make and the buzzing of their wings. I have a short video I made this is where you can watch it, if you want.

I'm back to making art again. Here's what I'm currently working on. Base coat is down and waiting for it to dry.I'll keep adding layers, it's a work and wait process.I'm glad to be back in the groove again.

Rise

I've been needing a couch. I haven't owned one for all of the months I've lived here. I was using a twin mattress with cushions, which served the purpose plus gave me an extra bed. I've been on the look out for a regular couch and so when I saw an ad on Craig's List for a living room set for $100 I called. It sounded in pretty decent shape plus the picture showed all the pieces sitting on top of a trailer. I took a chance and asked if he'd deliver it, for some extra $. Which he was willing to do, yay! He delivered it, helped bring it into the house and put it where I wanted it. Really nice guy. The set is in really good condition, couch with 4 pillows, loveseat, and a chair with an ottoman. I'm over the moon about it.

Third time is a charm.

Is the third time charming?

LaMesilla is where I'm now relocated. Just somewhere south of Espanola. A long time agricultural area that reminds me a lot of the Grand Valley. There's irrigation water, here but no ditch riders. The majordomo of the acequia manages the water for the benefit of all users. Water just started running yesterday! 

I'm still getting settled in. I plan on staying here for awhile. I love it. This unit is part of a complex on this ranchette. There's 4 total units, mine being the largest. Next to me is a studio apt, on the other side of it is a small apartment rented by an older couple, and in a separate small house is a couple. They are planning on gardening this year and have a nice greenhouse set up as well as ground ready for planting.

  I think people like to see what it's like around where I'm living. So yesterday, after the dogs and I took an abbreviated walk, (wind and snow) I went out again to take more pictures of this beautiful scenery.

The snow didn't amount to much, And there's flurries coming down again this morning.Temp 25.9 degrees
After I came back from taking these pics, I discovered Ria had figured out how to open the cabinet door. She ate a whole box of large size dog treats. Stinker!!!
Then she had me up 2 or 3 times last night, she had to go out. I'm tired and cranky today :>(
 I think a nap this afternoon would be good :>)
